Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Sweet boy #2 exercised with me this week. I am back to running up and down the stairs and since sweet boy #3 was napping and sweet boy #1 was helping the hunky hubby at camp it was just me and sweet boy #2. So he wanted to run with me. But he is a little tippy going down the stairs. So he would puff along behind me, shuffling down the stairs and hanging onto the railing. Then puff up the stairs. I asked if he was getting tired and he would say yes, but as soon as I offered to make him a snuggly place on the couch he would scowl at me and ask if I was all done too. No, he would run as long as Momma ran. Finally after 9 whole minutes he was really really tired and I convinced him to lay on top of one of the stools at our table and watch me. He put a big piece of paper on top of his tummy for a blanket and was happy. He even stretched out with me when I was done. inquiring “How do we stretch our eyes Momma?”

The big boys and I vacuumed the living room. It was clean and beautiful and then sweet boy #3 came over and dumped an entire mixing bowl full of popcorn on top of his head. It of course didn’t stay there but scattered liberally over the entire living room floor.

The winner this week. The hunky hubby went out of his way to retrieve the big boys puddle boots from storage before taking them to camp with him. However they did not simply step into the puddles delicately. They laid down and rolled in them and his careful boot retrieval was all for naught. Although their toes may have been cleaner then they would have without the boots. You never know.
