Boy Friday

Instead of getting up to go shopping on Black Friday (It was tempting, but not tempting enough to overcome fatigue and a scratchy throat), we stayed home and had “Boy Friday”. An entire day spent with my husband and three little boys. We awakened to apple pie, coffee, pink jello salad, and cocoa for breakfast. We read a little bit out of Stink:Solar System Superhero together, then got our snow clothes on, hauled firewood for Grandpa, and went in search of a Christmas tree. Our search was successful and Sweet Boy#1 got to wield his saw on not only a tree for us but one for Grammy and Grandpa as well. Then it was inside to dry out and play Super Mario Brothers while I made chocolate chip/toffee chunk, and butterscotch vanilla chip cookies. We played a board game (with monsters!) together ate chicken noodle soup for dinner and then read some history and science before bedtime. “Boy Friday” was a huge success, we don’t often have such a big chunk of time to just do fun things as a family. I think we should make it a tradition, although it is hard to miss out on $20 vacuum cleaners and buy-one-get-one-free mechanical hamsters.

  • And I love that the younger two are in their underwear while playing… classic boys! 😉

A great way to spend,’Black Friday’. I like ‘Boy Friday’ much better. Yep, I agree with Krista, underwear is the usual attire for boys, until the girls start to hang around.

    Love to you.

  • I think undies are their natural habitat.
