Writing News
The conference finally arrived. The Northwest Christian’s Writer Renewal. This is our weekend, my sister and I. Our chance to purchase and wear new clothes, and drink coffee and go out to eat and watch movies and go to classes and pitch our stories and talk to editors about our writing and how to shoot a venomous snake if it is staking out the doorway of your church. Rolana and I had so so much fun. We look forward to this all year and it was worth it.
Both Rolana and I actually finished our crazy novellas. We pitched them and are so glad that we are done. They didn’t turn out half bad either. Now we wait and see what the professionals think. I pitched to two agents, who reluctantly asked me to send them partials. Everyone warned me that YA isn’t selling, but they were willing to take a peek at my writing for which I am grateful.
But yeah, we had such a good time and learned so much. Especially about writing romance, which we were totally winging when we wrote the novellas. The conference was awesome all the way around. Now all we have to do is survive until next year.
So true. I’m thinking a fall retreat is in order.
Yeah, twice a year would be really nice.
