Drag firstborn from bed
Early rise, it’s back to school
Comatose, he lies

Tuesday
Fill my bowl with gold
Acorn squash soup it’s Autumn
Buttery and sweat

Wednesday
My towhead is sick
Fevered, flushed cheeks, on the couch
Needs “meatball movie”

Thursday
Oldest sells pizza
For playground and art he says
For my boy, I buy

Friday
Our Doctor checks ears
Reduced hearing, concerned scowl
I hug, pray, and stew
