Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Well, the boys spent a good hour wrapping up birthday and Christmas gifts for Sweet Boy#1’s Hero Factory guy. He urged his brothers on to gift giving excellence. “You’re behind, you need to wrap several more gifts.” These gifts consisted mainly of Legos, perhaps the hero factory guys might get injured and need more Legos as backup.

I received a marvelous pasta maker from my brother and sister-in-law for Christmas. I had been testing it out and came into the kitchen to find Sweet Boy#1 and Sweet Boy#3 cutting papers by running them through the pasta maker. I guess they had to shred some sensitive documents.

Our elderly Newfoundland likes to lay on the ice. Sure, he has a nice bed we made him out of an old sleeping bag, but Shamu likes to flop down on a nice shady icepatch. The Hunky Hubby heard Shamu barking outside last night. He went out to help him stand up. Shamu has trouble standing, especially on the ice. He tried to get him up but Shamu was stuck. The ice where he was laying had melted. When the sun went down, the temperature dropped, and our doggy’s hair was frozen solid to the ground. The Hunky Hubby had to tug and chip awhile but he finally got Shamu free. But he only made it a few steps, his tail was frozen to the ground as well.
