Breaking News

Fans do strange things. There is Fan Fiction. Where fans of a certain novel or series or theatrical trilogy will use their favorite characters and write new stories about them for their own personal enjoyment and the enjoyment of the other fan fic writers that gather online. There are Fan Videos, I saw a trailer for New Moon online and clicked on it hoping to see what the upcoming movie would look like. But no this and all of it’s many friends were Fan Trailers, I clicked through quite a few before I realized that I was never going to come upon the real one and that some people were actually using ancient videos from geeky 80’s bands which have nothing to do with either vampires or werewolves and I was greatly confused… Anyway the breaking news for this week is my discovery of a new and alarming fan product.

There is now FAN FOOD!

All of those fans of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events have been ransacking their kitchens for Lemony flavorings and if you google “Lemony Snickets, cookies” you will see for yourself that they have indeed been busy. There are many different recipes out there for Lemony Snickets, but I decided to just try one. This one featured snicker doodles without the cinnamon and substituting Lemon juice for the vanilla. Very tasty. Sweet boy #3 spent a good amount  of time yesterday pilfering cookies off the counter and grabbing both grandma Judy’s and Grandpa Dave’s hands and luring them toward the pile of Snickets while using his much too adorable features to snicker them into acquiring a treat for his consumption. All in all I approve of this new and strange fan activity.

1/2 C. butter

1 and 1/6 th C. Sugar

1 large Egg

3 teaspoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 and 1/2 + 1/3 C. flour (hey that’s what the recipie said ok!)

bake @ 375 for 11-13 min.
