We watched the trailer for the new Star Wars movie with the boys and it amazes me how quick and agile their minds are. After seeing that cool rolling droid on the sand, Sweet Boy#2 instantly made up one of his own. His droid…”is the same as that rolling one unless it is in battle mode! Then it grows to about this tall (he shows me with his hand) and instantly grows legs and has a gun with three points like a triangle that sucks energy out of the air around it and then BOOM! It has a blast area about the size of this room!!!” I love it when a story stirs up their minds and lets the creativity loose to rampage around our house.
At the time of the original Star Wars, my boys built a spaceship in the basement out of shoe boxes and paper towel tubes. Their action figures lived better than we did, with sleeping compartments, work rooms and a cafeteria made out of junk rescued from the garbage, including small white mosaic tiles from a neighbor’s bathroom renovation. Memories!
So fun, I’ll have to suggest it to the boys!
