Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

We allow an hour of screen time a day, with occasional treats of more so that we can actually finish a movie. Lately the boys have chosen to use that hour to play video games.

Boy to they love video games and The Hunky Hubby was concerned. Had they lost their sense of adventure?

He asked them about going on a hike, but no, they were worried that they might not get in their full hour of video games what with band practice and homework. Fearing for them, we dragged our boys out of the house and made them come on a forced adventure. And you know what? We had to drag them back to the house again because they wanted to scramble down every steep canyon and up every boulder and into every tree.

They hadn’t lost their sense of Adventure, it just had to be cultivated, chosen. And so, for your viewing pleasure, here is photographic evidence that adventure is not dead in the Wilks household.

I promise you a crazed animal, a concussion, and a kiss in every single book...you're welcome!

I have no doubts that their sense of adventure is always just hovering just under the surface, eager to escape at any moment.
