Autumn on our Mountain Meadow

Our family lives and works at a remote Bible camp on the edge of the Cascade Mountains.

It is such a unique place where meadows and forest meet to become the home for a variety of wildlife and even two kinds of endangered flower.

Aspen groves in the middle of the meadow turn gold during autumn, along with bushes and our lovely deciduous conifers Tamarack (or Larch).

At dusk and dawn we hear bull elk bugle a challenge to each other. Sometimes, a crash in the bushes lets us know they are battling nearby.

Both spooky fogs and brilliant color fill the autumn forest with beauty.

And that my friends is a glimpse into our world. A mountain meadow, elk, turning leaves, and the incredible beauty found in the simple changing of the seasons.
