Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

We had an incident this week involving Sweet Boy #1, an opened safety pin, a bic ink pen, and the Hunky Hubbies pillow.

There was one day this week where we took a break from school in the middle of the day to play for an hour with the neighbor girl and kind of lost our momentum and so didn’t finish kindergarten until 4:00 in the afternoon. At some point that day as I was urging Sweet Boy #1 on to academic perseverance, Sweet Boys #2 and #3 got  a butter knife and a jar of peanut butter and went to work on their bedroom floor, the crib, and Sweet Boy #3’s pillow. Then Sweet Boy #2 washed his own hair in the sink, also during the school day, with an entire bottle of shampoo. It was about half full, but still we were slipping and sliding across the bathroom floor for a substantial amount of time!

Then there was the winner this week. The Hunky Hubby was away at a conference and I dressed and packed up all 3 boys for church by myself. We drove down our mountain and into town for church, a 30 minute journey. And one block from our church Sweet Boy #1 blew chunks all over the car and into his lap. I even got splashed up in the driver’s seat. So I stripped him and got him a cardboard box and we drove home. He puked again on the drive home and then a bunch more as the day proceeded. I tried to keep count. It was either 8 or 9 times, can’t remember exactly. But a lot. Then I bathed them that night and Sweet Boy #3 pooped in the tub. The Hunky Hubby drove up just as I was putting my 3 newly washed little cyclones down for bed. Are moms tough? Absolutely. Would we rather be wimpy and whiny, helpless little princesses on days like that… I’ll let you guess.

I promise you a crazed animal, a concussion, and a kiss in every single book...you're welcome!

  • Grandma Judy

Go Girl Go! You are tough when you need to be and a royal princess when the circumstances call for it, with no whining of course :-). A perfect combination in my book!

    Love to you.

  • Oh, poop in the tub, so fun! 😉 The pillow sounds like the least of your troubles this week… oy!
