Writing News
This week went pretty well. I finished “step 5” of my snowflake for the devotional idea. Which was writing a page about each character. I have 4 characters for the story portion of the devotional and I combined a bit of writing advise from Jim Butcher’s blog and gave each character: Exaggeration, Exotic Position, An Introduction, Verisimilitude with tags and traits, and finally Empathy. In other words I tried to make each character just a little bit larger than life, placed in an amazing situation, introduce them in a way that characterizes them, make them feel real with tags and traits that explain who they are and help the reader remember them, and give them at least a little something that we can relate to about them. A helpful exercise for any writing project.
