This week I completed exercises #18 and #19 in the Writing the Breakout Novel Workbook. #18 was “Turning Points” in which I looked at the important pivot points in my plot and enhanced them. And #19 was “The Inner Journey” in which I looked at the vital moments of character development throughout the story for my protagonist and enhanced them. I polished some old stuff and added some new stuff and now my manuscript is even longer. Aaaargh! But so far not so big that I absolutely have to start pruning viciously. I’m hoping that all of the rest of my brilliant ideas will make the thing smaller. What do you think my odds are?
