Winter Break with the Cousins
We got to spend Wed-Sat with the cousins this week at it was winter break for our boys. Yes winter on the Olympic Peninsula is a bit on the torrential side, but getting to see “the cousins” is worth the risk of accidental drowning.
And while the rainstorms swept through the boys put on their shorts and puddle boots and ran out into the yard, shouting and jumping and pretending they were pirates or giant flaming monitor lizards or something. Whatever it was they had a blast before comeing in to get de-sanded.
Then it was a runaway choo choo train constructed out of three very sturdy laundry baskets, a climbing rope, and 3-6 half blinded but still madly running children. And then laundry basket sumo wrestling…which evolved into the kind of fighting that big horn sheep engage in on Mt. tops with skulls that are a lot harder than those currently sported by my own children.
A success all around. Thank God for abnormally active cousins who perfectly match my abnormally active boys.
What a blast!!! So glad they enjoy each other so much.
Love to you.
Of course they’re abnormally active! They are your brother’s children after all! 😉
oh the wiggles…Thanks again for comming. Its always nice to have someone else around who has very active kids.
