Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

Well…the boys (ages 5, 7, and 9) all carved their own Jack-O-Lanterns by themselves this year. There was much knife waving and one cut finger, but surprisingly everything turned out well.

The winner this week…

After I blew up out DVD player (see last week’s entry) the boys wanted to use their tools and make a robot out of it. We said that was fine and Sweet Boy#2 spent a happy hour taking the whole thing apart until it was a pile of pieces loosely connected by wire. Then (without our knowledge or permission) he plugged it in. It gave him a stiff shock. Was he scared? Horrified at the dangerous thing he had done? Nope. He shouted out in a happy excited voice: “It works!!!” I think little boys measure success in some completely different and indecipherable manor.
