Rocking Chair Snuggle
We had this moment the other day. One of those little snapshots of the boys that I wish I could hang on the wall of my mind and keep forever. Nothing big, just life. But sometimes life is just so very beautiful. Our power was out again. Generator trouble I think. And so all the lights were out when the boys stumbled out of bed. Sweet Boy#1 was already at school and so I gathered Sweet Boy#2 and #3 into my arms and we snuggled up in the rocking chair under the Hunky Hubbies old tattered quilt. First I would sing “Good Morning Good Morning Good Morning” to them in my loudest most annoying voice, and both of them would flop down in mock sleep with their eyes clinched shut and fake snores rumbling wildly about the room. Then I would sing “Go to Sleep Go to Sleep” in a soft soothing tone and both boys would rocket upright, eyes bright and wide laughing and laughing at my failed attempts to send them into slumber. As you might imagine, this just didn’t get old. Over and over again the joke was on me as my lullabys failed to produce the proper result. Man I love those boys.
Sweet!! I love it. It would have been fun to have a video camera hidden somewhere nearby….
Yes, they are delightful and you are so good at taking the time to enjoy them.
Love to you.
