The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week
Sweet boy #1 turned 6 this week and it was a momentous occasion. We took a vacation from school. Read 51 straight minutes of his Astronomy book. Built a snow fort outside. Baked a cake that looked like Jupiter (including the great red spot)) and attempted to frost cup cakes to look like some of the planets over 60 moons. He had a friend up for dinner and we ate soup and corn fritters as he requested. Then off to Grammy’s for cake and presents. Sweet boy #3 ate about 3 cupcakes on the sly but all in all after wrestling them into bed an hour late and encouraging a visiting counselor to eat the rest of the cake as we slept (thank you, so so much. That was an incredible help to my self-control to find it gone in the morning), I can officially pronounce it a great day. Happy Birthday Sweet Boy #1. And may your cabin tower truly reach up to Jupiter, and its over 60 moons.
And they were BIG cupcakes! Not the little size that you get when you make 24 cupcakes out of one cake mix.
It was wonderful to actually be there on his BD even though we arrived so late we could only kiss him good night. Very heart warming to see him wearing the gift I had made. I will make a different cap that will actually fit him :0)
Love to you
