Back to work this week. I did take two sick days (from writing not parenting) as I had an awful sore throat, cold, and head thingy. But despite the setbacks I managed to revise ch.2, 3, 4, and 5. I went back and made it make sense. Expanded upon sections that needed more padding, cut sections that were too chubby, and put in specific details about the setting. I did a lot or work on the pacing. Which I’m told is the most vital element of a book for teens. I watched YouTube videos about landing in the Cancun airport, walking through the Cancun airport, and of central American spider monkeys screeching in the treetops. It’s nice to get a little work done after a break. So how about you? Are you relieved to get back to work and start getting things accomplished when you’ve been away? Do you love something about your work? I do. Although there is always a terrible temptation to just skip writing and read for two hours. But mostly I resist.
