The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week

I had a dangerous encounter this week.

The cousins are up and the boys and their cousins procured a bunch of shovels and spent several days building a complicated warren of trails and tunnels in the snow bank at the end of our driveway. They invited me into their fort to view this masterpiece. I had slipped into the Hunky Hubby’s large snow boots to zip outside. They are 5.5 sizes too large. Anyway, the tour went well until Mr. Steel informed me–“We made it to hide in and throw snowballs at adults who are not allowed…and you are not allowed!” I ran for my life, clomping up the driveway in the huge snowboots as snowballs zinged past my ears. My niece and one of my nephews chased me all the way up onto the porch where I slammed the door and saved myself from an icy grave. A tour of the snow fort indeed!
