The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week
We’ll I haven’t blogged about this for awhile so let’s see what has been going on over the past few weeks…
Sweet Boy#2–Wanted to make pear syrup and so he got a gallon bag full of pear cores from camp and we boiled them on the stove for three days. Then we added brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. We strained it and poured it onto our pancakes. And you know what? It was absolutely delicious, even though we burned it a few times.
Sweet Boy#2–Came home from school with an experiment idea to do with corn starch. We did the experiment (rolling drops of colored water down a cookie sheet covered in corn starch) and then I made three bowls full of corn starch and water and the boys played with the oozy mixture that afternoon. Very messy, but well worth it.
The Boys went on a paper airplane kick. I showed them the scrap paper pile and since I have printed off my manuscript several times for writer’s conferences…it is rather large. I told them they could make as many airplanes as they wanted and they all rushed down to the sports court and proceeded to make 64 paper airplanes. I drew the line however when they asked to keep them all.
