The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week
Sweet Boy#3 has a huge snowball fight with Grandma Judy in which he keeps asking her to “Bend down here.” so that he can smash snow on her head.
Sweet Boy#1 asks if we can delay going outside so that he can talk about planes with Grandpa Dave.
I follow the boys into the house to find them feeding Nukka (sister’s dog) piles of dog food on the carpet which progresses to trying to lure her into their room with a trail of frosted mini wheats.
Sweet Boy#1–Sneaks Nukka into the shower and turns it on.
The Hunky Hubby takes out a window screen in order to fix our heater. The boys have it in pieces in no time, irreparable pieces. And then Sweet Boy#2 takes his scissors to the actual screen. A total loss.
Sweet Boy#3–Notices that we have flowers and dragonflies on our bathroom towels. Asks why we do not have an alluring design of Big Biting Spiders. Why indeed?
Sweet Boy#3–Gets stuck in the snow when his boot falls off leaving him barefoot and crying.
Sweet Boy#1–Runs to me to get help for his brother.
Sweet Boy#2–Hikes back to stand with his brother and try to get him out of the snow.
Me–Despite the fact that I got quite wet postholing over to my poor stuck little boy to free him, I was so so proud of my boys. For how they worked together to help their brother. I caught just a glimpse of the amazing men that they could become, by watching the amazing boys that they are right now.
