Old Boy Quotes
2017
I came across this old boy quote when I cleaned my desk. The boys were 13, 11, and 9 at the time. Enjoy!
The boys did not want to shop for new shoes. New shoes don’t feel right. They are too bright and clean. They are not old friends. After trying to explain several times I finally left it at, “We need new shoes so that you won’t look like poor, motherless children that don’t have anyone to take care of them.” Of course, my oldest had an answer to that!
Sweet Boy#1–“We always look like poor, motherless children because of Theo’s hair. There are squirrel nests in there. That’s why they drop pine cones on his head. They’re feeding their babies!”
And yes, despite this flawless logic, I still forced them into new shoes.
