Braver Than Me

Occasionally your kids will shock you with their innate bravery and boldness. I grew up with a strong phobia of tickling and am constantly amazed as my boys beg to be tickled showing absolutely no signs of hyperventilation or terror. The other day at swim lessons Sweet Boy#3 asked his teacher if he could jump off the diving board. What! My mind was screaming, as my mouth calmly gave him permission. Is this child insane? But he did it, because he never imagined that he couldn’t.

I wonder how many times we tremble behind a mound of excuses and refuse to embark on the path prepared for us by God, because we were sure that we couldn’t. But then along comes a three-year-old jumping off the diving board, reminding us that maybe, just perhaps…we can.

  • Thanks for sharing the insite.
Good things to remember. Reminded me last weeks Beth Moore study. In her lesson, I learend that our biggest enemy is our fear.

  • Yes, Satan doesn’t have to jump out of the closet and yell “Boo!” to sidetrack God’s people. It is simply enough to open our ears to our own voice and watch the trainwreck happen. Fear is a powerful enemy and easily acquired.
