The boys knocked on the window and I open it.
“Mom, Cousin#3 made a chicken castle at camp! Can we take Paintball and King to visit?”
That is a request I don’t think most moms hear every day. But I just told them to keep their chickens safe and to go ahead. So they loaded Paintball and King up into the orange sled and off they went, to visit their cousin and his hen at the new chicken castle he’d just made in a snow bank at camp. This really is an ideal place to raise boys.

Sweet Boy#3–“You scared me! I thought you were an octopus in the house.”
Sweet Boy#?–“Why would you think I was an octopus in the house?”
Sweet boy#3–“I only saw part of you.”
Hmmm…Weird, even just seeing part of him, I’m not sure how he thought his brother was an octopus. He did just finish reading a Magic Tree House book about the ocean deep. Perhaps that had something to do with it.
