Reading Tai-Bo
I had heard that “lists” are very big in YA fiction now. Well now I know why. I read a contemporary YA about a girl growing up in a family run PI business and she makes lists of everything. Lists of ex-boyfriends, lists of fake dental appointments, lists of the times that her drunk uncle disappears. All sorts of lists. And they are hilarious. Love em. But I also discovered that I do not like fiction written in the present tense. Luckily only the prologue was in the present tense and the rest was in past. Yeah.
