The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week
This week I have a story about each of my boys.
Sweet boy #3
We had just eaten macaroni and cheese and I was in the process of attempting to cleanse him with a wash rag. But not to be thwarted, sweet boy #3 kept reaching around my vigorous scrubbings and sticking noodle after noodle back into his hair.
Sweet boy #2
We were reading the story of Mary and Martha in his picture bible and one illustration showed Martha swiftly stirring a bowl of cake or something so that it sloshed over the edge. Sweet boy #2 explained to the rest of us why Martha sported an apron and Jesus did not. “He doesn’t have an apron because Jesus doesnt stir wildly.” Calm stirring…obviously one of the forgotten fruits of the spirit.
Sweet boy #1
A little history. Sweet boy #3 will occasionally become so enraged that he screams until all his air is gone and yet still continues to scream until he becomes sort of purple at which point all of the rest of us are exhorting him to “Breath!” Eventually he does and his color returns to normal. On to our story.
Sweet boy #1 was outside with the hunky hubby and spotted some purple trilliums. Usually trilliums are white. But he explained the color variation in great detail to his daddy. “The trilliums turned purple because it has been a long time since it’s rained. And Brennan turns purple if he doesn’t breath.” A logical child, my first born.
