The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week
Hmmmm….
We went on several walks through the frigid icy puddles and creeks of April this week, need I say more.
Sweet Boy#2–was upset with me as I demanded that he enter the bathroom and empty his bladder. And yet he obeyed…sort-of. He did indeed empty his bladder and yet in an ingenious burst of rebellion he came upon a way to obey and disobey simultaneously. He peed, but with his undies on!
Sweet Boy#3–Runs to me all upset. Why you might ask? I certainly did, and I got an answer too. Sweet Boy#2’s imaginary spider was biting him!
Speaking of biting, an unnamed child had a nightmare and crawled in bed with the Hunky Hubby and I. But then he must have had another one for I awoke to find him biting me on the shoulder…hard. I thought I must have dreamed it. But the next day I found very clear, tooth shaped, bruises on my shoulder. Weird, but true.
And of course there was a day that I heard a terrible crash. Was someone injured beyond repair, was a precious kitchen item shattered…No, thank goodness. But a full jar of worms and dirt had been dropped and spilled on the kitchen counter and floor. And then as I cleaned them up I had three fretful little boys hovering over my shoulder giving out helpful advice: “There’s a baby one somewhere. Don’t lose the baby one.” and my favorite “Momma, don’t get them dirty!” But with patience and care all of the worms were retrieved and I was able to assure my young brood that, by all that is Holy, I did not get their worms dirty.
