Writing News
This week I plotted out a new romance. It needs to be between 40,000 and 45,000 words, so I’m trying to plot in such a way that results in that length of story. I chose my six most important things, then my fifteen most important things, and then went chapter by chapter so that I have at least a goal, conflict, and disaster for every chapter except The Dark Night of the Soul which is almost totally sequel and not really a scene at all. Then I went over one more chapter of my middle grade adventure with my critique partner and sent the revised pages along with a follow up to an editor who requested material awhile back. We shall see what happens. All in all, a good week of writing.
