This week I was able to take a peripheral incident with the protagonist’s hair and make it vital to my story. It took writing some new scenes and making edits to both manuscripts, but it felt really good to have improved my piece with some depth in an unexpected place. This also helps the character arc for the first manuscript and makes it feel more like an individual book.
