The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week
One of the boys left his lunch box at school. Then he borrowed his brother’s lunch box. Then he borrowed his other brother’s lunch box. Then he borrowed an old lunch box from last year… Finally, there were no lunch boxes left in the entire house. He had to take his lunch to school in an old Starbucks bag. And so our boy decided that yes, it was important to bring home all of those lunch boxes. He came home with 5 lunch boxes in his backpack!
I got to meet the new interim principal at school. Yep, he called the house. An unnamed boy in our household was found spreading ketchup on a toilet seat at school. The bright idea of one of his friends gone awry. I think he is learning to be suspicious when that bright gleam of utter joy appears in a buddy’s eyes and he says things like: “Here, I snuck this ketchup into the bathroom. Why don’t you spread it all over the toilet seat.” Important lessons indeed, but not the way I wanted to meet the principal. Ah well, such is life.
