The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week
The boys have been playing a lot of WAR lately. Not attacking one another…although that happens too, but the card game WAR. But their version of the game is just a little bit different. The boys changed the suites. No plain old clubs, hearts, diamonds, and spades for them. Instead they play where clubs are called “Body Guards” and hearts are “Cheese Faces” and Diamonds are “Paintballs” and spades are called “Kings” in honor of their chickens, plus two of the cousins chickens. But that is too hard to say, so a game goes like this:
“I have the ace of ‘Kingys.'”
“Give me the eight of ‘Paintys.'”
“I really need a jack of ‘Bodies.'”
“I only have a two of ‘Cheesies.'”
Listening to them play is very entertaining indeed. But don’t ask me to try and remember what a two of hearts is, it is all too complicated.
