The Harrowing/Heartwarming Parent Moment of the Week
My three boys have worked extra hard this month to make me feel special. It is so cute and amazing to watch them growing up. The Hunky Hubby was out of town over mother’s day and so the boys got up early (6:30…they didn’t need to get up that early, but they were so excited that it just sort of happened) and made me a fruit and cream parfait for breakfast. They even had a chant: “Yay, Yay. We made a parfait!” It was very delicious…except for this one blackberry that I just kept chewing and chewing. Finally I took it out of my mouth and discovered that I had been trying to consume Sweet Boy#3’s mini tribble. Which was actually one of those fake fur craft puffs that one makes clown noses and what not with in kindergarten…he found it on the ground at recess earlier in the week, decided that it was his pet tribble (yep, like in Star Trek) and had been toting it around the house for several days. Somehow the critter ended up in my parfait. It did not taste good…but the rest of my treat did. The boys laughed and laughed and tried to assure me that the slip up was not on purpose. Well, later in the month on my Birthday they also made me breakfast. Cream of wheat with half and half and brown sugar. Very yummy and tribble free. I am so thankful for such wonderful boys, even if it means a tribble in the food once in awhile. Well worth it, I assure you!
