Reading Tai-Bo
This week I finished up that wonderful book on Revising and Editing and went on to start the newest book in the Hunky Hubby’s favorite series. Manly urban fantasy with a twist. Yes yes the genre is for guys, but this particular series is so great, I love it. And what did I learn from my reading this week? Dum dum dum dum….
That if you have a killer character doing amazing and unpredictable things. You’ve got it all. This character is a tough guy, but a sweet guy who cares about people and gets scared and even cries, but in the end he is going to kick down the monster’s door and blast him into the netherworld because there is no one else to do it. He makes terrible mistakes, but eventually he realizes it. He is simply stated, Super Cool. And he is involved in plots that twist and flip and involve much manly action and lots of blasting and burning of incendiary items. So fun.
