Reading Tai-Bo
This week I read a book with the unlikely title of: Leven Thumps and the Whispered Secret. And besides the fact that my mind keeps morphing the hero’s name into Seven Lumps instead of Leven Thumps I had a great time reading it. So…what did I learn from my reading this week? That there is more than one way to endanger your characters and not all of them have to make sense. The author of this title was constantly inventing ridiculous perils for Leven and his comrade These include but are not limited to: being attacked by the disembodied blobs that remained of the villain, being attacked by giant ravens that dug huge holes in the ground and then shed hair all over you which came alive and threw you into the pit (yes they let their hair do the dirty work according to the book), being chased by frog-like blobs of glue as it started filling up the hole that you were currently stuck in, being attacked by lightning, and clouds, and secrets, being buried alive, being carried off by bugs, being used to fertilize a tree seed…the list goes on and on. It was a perilous book indeed, a delightful read.
so you finished them all? I got the ink one from the library today. Miss you!
No I think I have one and a half to go, but I better order something from the library soon or I’ll be stuck without anything when I do finish.
