This week I worked on my modern Assyrian short story. I’m almost finished with the part that will go at the end of the first book. The addition of the modern story puts my word count at around 58,000 words which is closer to normal for a YA. Although I have run across some YA that is 50,000 words (I’d Tell You That I Love You But Then I’d Have To Kill You), I definitely feel more confident with it being just a bit higher.
