Aircraft Carrier and Momma Movie Night
Two exciting things this week…and I am loathe to choose between them. On Sunday “Nacho” one of our former staff gave us a tour of the USS Abraham Lincoln, the aircraft carrier that he steers. He’s a …quartermaster? In the Navy and gets to be up on the bridge doing what Checkov did on the Enterprise. So cool! We hiked up many many many many grated metal steps and saw a crazy depleted uranium shooting Gatling gun and the launcher things that zing the planes off the aircraft carrier and all the flags that they use to communicate with. But it is unequivocally unnerving to walk past a guy carrying a M16, no matter how delightful the tour.
Then later in the week I bought “Shark Week” from WalMart and then proceeded to sneak Sweet Boy#1 out of bed at 2:30am for caramel corn and a movie, just with Momma. A fun summer tradition that I intend to do with all the boys, but man were we tired the next day!
Everything sounds wonderful to me. Don’t know if I could have gotten up in the middle of the night to watch ‘Shark Week’, perhaps the season finale of NCIS…hmmmmmm…maybe not even NCIS 🙂
Love to you.
