Reading Tai-Bo
My favorite urban-fantasy author (ok, the only urban fantasy author I read) has a new book coming out in June. What does that mean…it is book #13 and so if I want to re-read the series before the new book comes I have to start now. He leaves clues inbeded several books back and things like that, so I decided to do it. I read his first book this week and was stuck by how authors grow and change. This writer has gotten a lot better. More subtle and skilled at his craft, and yet the character is just as vibrant in the first book as in #12. What did I learn from reading this week…create a character that people love, and they will forgive you as you learn and grow as a writer.
